My roots in South Florida

Born and raised in Miami, Florida to a Colombian household, my roots are etched in El 305—a corner of the U.S. that feels more like Latin America than anywhere else and I wouldn’t have it any other way. In Miami, sun and water, home-cooked meals and rhythm never lack.

2013 - 2017

Coming of age

I was encouraged to pursue higher education as a scholar with Breakthrough Miami, and eventually set my sights on American University in Washington, D.C.

During those formative years, I broadened my perspective by playing competitive fútbol, traveling across Florida, the U.S. and even overseas to England and Spain. In high school, I fed my curiosity for global communication by studying French for four years and participating in Model UN.

Currently:

Design Specialist, Ibotta

Formerly:

Senior Marketing Strategist, Ogilvy

 2017 - 2021

Expanding my horizons

At AU, I double majored in Public Relations/Strategic Communication and Political Science, focusing on political communication and digital content creation. Along the way, I became curious about visual design—so I picked up a film camera, taught myself Adobe Creative Cloud and... fireworks.

My academic foundation and creative curiosity fueled my strategic mindset. I've had the honor of contributing to turning Florida’s 27th Congressional District blue in 2018, interning for House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn during historic moments in Congress and helping boost voter participation amid a pandemic as a remote intern for Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester of Delaware.

2021 - 2023

Ogilvy Associate

In 2021, I was selected as an Ogilvy Associate, completing the firm’s highly selective 18-month rotational program, gaining hands-on experience across three business units:

  • Client Services (Rotation 1): Served as a Jr. Comms Specialist for FEMA’s CERC contract, crafting strategic messaging to inform Americans about climate change and inspire climate action.

  • Employee Experience (Rotation 2): Worked as an Associate Marketing Strategist, conducting qualitative research and developing Employee Value Proposition (EVP) strategies.

  • Public Relations (Rotation 3): Acted as an Account Executive, executing B2B earned media campaigns while supporting the U.S. government’s rural aid and field readiness initiatives.

This rigorous program deepened my strategic capabilities, sharpened my communication skills, and gave me the privilege of contributing to work that drives real impact.
